GW at Mount Vernon.

GW wrote Henry Lee, Jr. in an effort to complete a longstanding exchange of bank stock for Lee’s purchase from GW of an interest in the Dismal Swamp Company.  The matter remained unsettled until July.

Priscilla Beale, a tenant on lands that GW owned in Montgomery County, Md., sent GW notice that she could not pay rent because the price of wheat had fallen.
