GW in Philadelphia for the Second Continental Congress. He dined with Richard Willing, who would later serve as a captain in the Revolutionary War.

James Cleveland, who had been hired to develop GW’s western lands, wrote GW a letter from Ohio updating him on the status of his servants, who kept running away, and crops in that area. He asked that GW update him on how matters stood between Great Britain and America.
