From Mount Vernon, GW wrote the son of his good friend Dr. James Craik, William, to inform him of the status of his various land disputes.

Former artillery commander Henry Knox sent another update on the number of Congressman in N.Y., projecting that a quorum would be assembled by 27 March. James Madison wrote GW a letter espousing the contrary view, that there was no certainty when a quorum would arrive. GW’s nephew Bushrod Washington wrote to recommend lawyer Gustavus Scott for a government position and to update GW on the Ky. land deed he had received from his friend Henry Lee.
