The Albemarle Independent Company wrote to GW, expressing frustration with Va. Gov. Lord Dunmore, who had stolen gun powder from the Va. independent companies. They reported to GW that the Company wished to meet in Williamsburg fully equipped to retrieve the powder and that they waited for his permission to do so.
