GW at Philadelphia.  GW wrote to Samuel Potts regarding the settlement of the estate of Margaret Green Savage, which had plagued him with issues since the 1760’s.

Joseph Davenport sent GW his proposed terms of service for his continued employment in operating the gristmill at Mount Vernon.

Thomas Jefferson requested GW’s signature on papers he hoped to send William Short and William Carmichael by a ship leaving the same day. Short and Carmichael had been commissioned to settle the differences between the United States and Spain.
