GW was in Alexandria, Virginia.  GW wrote a letter to Va. Lt. Governor Robert Dinwiddie protesting Colin Campbell’s, GW’s adjutant deputy of the Northern Neck, Va., claim to half of his salary, arguing that since Campbell was already paid $30 of GW’s $100 salary, such a claim was exorbitant.
