GW wrote his nephew John Dandridge from Mount Vernon, saying that he would gladly purchase Dandridge’s land at the price Col. Lewis had previously set.   

James Madison wrote that no quorum had yet been reached in either Congressional house in N.Y. He enclosed Philadelphia merchant George Morgan’s plans to found a Spanish settlement at New Madrid.
