GW at Philadelphia. GW recorded his donation for the year 1790 to the Alexandrian Charity School for the education of orphan children.
GW presented to Congress an appropriation of $10,000 for the Appropriations Act, two resolutions of the Legislature of Va. on the subject of bounty lands, and an act of the Legislature of Md. concerning port duties. GW also presented to the Senate a letter from France’s King Louis XVI, which praised Thomas Jefferson’s service in France.
