GW at American headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  According to GW’s General Orders, William Tudor was appointed Judge Advocate of the Continental army.  

GW sent another letter to James Warren, president of the Mass. provincial congress, informing him that he denied the General Court’s request to detach a part of his army for local defense. He explained, “it would give me great Pleasure to have it in my Power to extend Protection & Safety to every INdividual, but the Wisdom of the General Court will anticipate me in the Necessity of Conducting our Operations on a General and Impartial scale…”
