GW at Philadelphia. GW wrote to Samuel Magaw, rector of St. Paul’s church in Philadelphia, stating that he would attend an upcoming eulogium held by the American Philosophical Society in honor of the late Benjamin Franklin.
Congressman Thomas Hartley wrote to GW requesting an appointment for John Forsyth as the collector of excise in the county of York, but Forsyth would receive no such appointment. Oliver Pollock also wrote to GW, enclosing documents detailing his services during the Revolution and the money still owed to him for supplying the army.
