GW in Philadelphia for the Second Continental Congress.  GW’s committee reported the estimate of the amount of money they needed to raised to the whole Congress.

GW in Philadelphia for the Second Continental Congress. GW wrote in his diary that he dined with John Rutledge, a representative of S.C. in the Continental Congress.

GW went to Alexandria, Va., and returned in the afternoon.

GW at Mount Vernon. Robert Adam, Dumfries, Va. merchant Andrew Leitch, and his wife, Margaretta Leitch, visited.

GW at Mount Vernon. He dined with Capt. Philip Curtis, settling GW’s sale of his brig Farmer to Thomas Contee of Md.

GW at Mount Vernon. He wrote in his diary that Capt. Saunders left after dinner and he hosted John Lloyd for dinner and the night. His visitor Andrew Stewart left after dinner.

GW at Mount Vernon. GW wrote in his diary that he was home all day, but hosted Capt. Saunders for the night.

GW at Mount Vernon all day. His stepdaughter-in-law’s sister, Elizabeth “Betsey” Calvert, returned home after a rather lengthy visit.

GW at Mount Vernon all day. In his diary, GW reports a “Mr. Stone” dined there.
