GW at Mount Vernon. GW’s friend Bryan Fairfax left Mount Vernon, but Maj. Horatio Gates stayed all day. Col. Richard Henry Lee and his brother, Thomas, and Col. Charles Carter, Jr. visited.

26 April 1775

GW at Mount Vernon and Alexandria, Va. He traveled to Alexandria to meet with the Fairfax County Independent Company.

19 April 1775

GW at Mount Vernon. Sisters Mrs. Thomas Blackburn and Mrs. William Brown left after dinner. Dr. William Rumney arrived in the afternoon.

 

12 April 1775

GW at Mount Vernon. He wrote in his diary that Capt. Saunders left after dinner and he hosted John Lloyd for dinner and the night. His visitor Andrew Stewart left after dinner.

18 January 1775

GW at Alexandria, Va., where his diary indicates that he spent “all day” in committee.

11 January 1775

GW at Mount Vernon all day.  He wrote in his diary that he was alone.

 

04 January 1775

Charles Lee left Mount Vernon.

05 April 1775

GW at Mount Vernon with the same men as the day before: lawyer James Tilghman, Jr., James Buchanan, Alexandria, Va. merchants William Herbert and John Fitzgerald, as well as Daniel Carroll, Jr.

29 March 1775

GW arrived in Fredericksburg, Va., at eleven o’clock. He had dinner at Col. Fielding Lewis’s house. He spent the night at George Weedon’s tavern.

22 March 1775

GW in Richmond for the Second Va. Convention. He dined at Galt’s Tavern, owned by Gabriel Galt, and lodged at a house provided by the Galts. The weather was cold throughout the day.
