GW presumably traveling from Georgetown to Philadelphia. Lafayette wrote a letter to GW detailing a squabble his troops had with a mob near Paris.

28 May 1762

GW at Mount Vernon.  He reported in his diary tobacco planting and horse breeding.  GW wrote Robert Cary & Co. on business matters, but primarily related to disappointing tobacco sales.

07 February 1775

GW at Mount Vernon, where three overnight visitors left after breakfast. In his diary, GW reported snow in the morning but the afternoon as “clear & exceeding pleasant.”

GW at Mount Vernon where the wind blew “very fresh” though the day.

GW at Mount Vernon, where he wrote Secretary of State Timothy Pickering to acknowledge receipt of an agricultural pamphlet from John Sinclair.

GW at Mount Vernon, where he wrote James Anderson of Scotland (a renowned agriculturist, economist, and thinker) and asked him to find a Scottish gardener who would work and live at Mount Vernon.
